Job Description:
Responsibilities:

Supports scientific projects under the supervision of a Lead Informatics Specialist or a designated senior level Informatics Specialist. Develops scripts or software applications to support data management, data extraction and data analysis as required. Is knowledgeable in the handling and in the design of repository systems to contribute to the development of internal databases. Has basic expertise in the informatics methods used to analyze data. Contributes to the design of analytical procedures and executes analytical procedures in the framework of a specific project. Contributes to the interpretation of data analysis and to writing reports.

Qualifications:

Recommended - Master’s degree in domain-relevant sciences (biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and statistics or health sciences) or domain informatics (computational biology, computational chemistry, bioinformatics, clinical informatics, medical imaging, and medical informatics) OR a BS in domain-relevant sciences with (1) at least 12 graduate level semester hours in informatics or domain-relevant sciences and (2) at least two years of informatics experience.

Additional Qualifications:

Two years informatics experience and/or a master's degree in domain-relevant sciences or domain informatics preferred. Good written and oral communication skills are required. Expertise in the use of informatics computing and data management packages. Ability to prioritize, organizes, and delegates various tasks on projects. Frequently demonstrated initiative in administration, education (seminars, training), software development, technical reports. Demonstrated success in project management and communication skills.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,696.00, based on a full-time position.
