We are on the hunt for a skilled Bioinformatician to join our workforce. If you are enthusiastic about protecting and improving global public health, this could be the job for you! Purpose of the role: NIBSC is expanding its next generation sequencing and bioinformatics processing capacity to support its activities across all areas of the business including control testing, standards production and applied research. The primary function of the post is to contribute to this team by performing bioinformatics analyses on the data generated within NIBSC. Projects are widely varying across all scientific divisions and all functions of NIBSC and include: metagenomics; targeted gene analyses; whole mammalian genomes; and investigations on a multitude of viruses, bacteria, medicines and vaccines.

Person requirements:
Qualifications, Licenses and professional memberships: You will be educated to Masters level in Computer Science, Mathematics, Biology, or similar OR you will have equivalent professional experience to meet the competencies for this role.
