Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bioinformatician to work on a new collaborative project between the Bond (Ludwig Institute) and Buffa (MRC/CRUK Institute) groups at the University of Oxford. In your role as Bioinformatician, you will gather, analyse health records and genotype data from the UK Biobank.

You will have a first degree in Bioinformatics, Bioengineering or equivalent numerical subject along with substantial experience in ‘omic data analysis tools and software (e.g. BWA, Picard, GATK, SNVer, VarScan2, Samtools) and programming languages such as PERL and Python.

Experience in genomics platforms and data-mining and machine learning software (e.g.Weka) are required. Excellent communication skills and a proven, successful track record in analysis of genomics data are essential.

The post is a fixed-term contract for 1 year.
