Job Description:

Paramount Recruitment is currently representing a global organisation based in Uttlesford, Essex currently recruiting for a Bioinformatician in the growing Genomics department.

This company develop, manufacture and market products that simplify complex biomedical testing. The diagnostic systems and life science research instruments produce information used by physicians/scientists to diagnose disease, make treatment decisions and monitor patients.

Customers include hospital laboratories, pharmaceutical, biotechnology companies, universities and research institutions. The company operates in six continents and have been established for more than 75 years, and have been making a difference in lives by improving the productivity of medical professionals and scientists, supplying critical information for improving patient health and reducing the cost of care.

Role Description:

*Leading the development, support and reporting services for the company system and the automation of NGS bioinformatics pipelines
*Planning and system maintenance developing upgrade strategies
*Involvement in data analysis and project management
*Ensuring laboratory and entry issues are corrected
*Communicating information management system concepts to non-experts, and to providing effective support
*Working in cross-functional teams to develop requirements, elaborate, implement and support analysis pipelines
*Continuous improvement through the rigorous application of company tools and systems
*Adhering to timelines, design control & best practices for software development
*Think through technical design challenges and workflow/integration requirements
Requirements:

*Educated to BSc/MSc in a Science, Mathematical, Computational related subject
*Experience delivering LIMS within a research environment would be an advantage
*Solid software background
*Experience of planning and system maintenance and upgrade strategies
*Experience within a commercial/industry environment
*Experience of workflow, integration and reporting functions
*Expertise in working in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) environment
*Excellent oral and written communication
*Interacting effectively with staff at all levels
