Job Description:
We have openings for skilled and experienced bioinformaticians who have experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). These individuals will help design, develop, optimize and characterize new clinical assays at Invitae. Successful candidates will join a growing team that is building robust infrastructure, custom sophisticated algorithms and scalable analysis capabilities for clinical genetics. We use agile design and implementation practices coupled with the careful validation and documentation required in a clinical environment.

Requirements:

  • Interest in working closely with our molecular biology lab is a must
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: java, c, c++ or python
  • Strong skills in data analysis and familiarity with current NGS pipelines and tools (e.g. BWA, GATK, Picard).
  • A working knowledge of genetics
  • Experience in the design and/or analysis of NGS-based assays, amplicon panels or microarrays
  • Deep expertise in machine learning and statistical data modeling a plus.
  • Ideal candidates will be intellectually rigorous, self-motivated and have significant software development experience.
