Bioinformatics Analyst

Job Description:
Use software and/or databases to gather, store, manipulate, and analyze clinical and research data. Identify and resolve technical issues and propose upgrades to current software. Use existing tools to analyze NGS data. Work closely with senior level bioinformaticians on deliverables. Routinely consults with and receives guidance from more senior positions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree Bioinformatics, Computational Genetics, Computer Science, or relevant technical field
• Basic proficiency in the use of biological databases and on-line resources/tools used at ARUP

• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.
• PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
• ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
• Authorized to Work: Must be a citizen of the United States or authorized to work in the United States.
• Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
