Job Description:
A position is available immediately for a Bioinformatics Analyst to join the lab of Dr. Sheng Li at the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine. The research focus of the lab is in the area of cancer epigenome. This position offers the opportunity to make leading contributions to cutting edge research in computational cancer biology and translational research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Develop new sequencing pipelines for studying epigenome changes and its impact on transcriptome in cancer patients and mouse models.

-Data analysis through established algorithms / pipelines to study cancer epigenome and its contribution to tumor evolution.

-Familiarity with large datasets from big consortium projects such as TCGA/ICGC/ENCODE.

-Experience in High Throughput Sequence (HTS) data analysis, data integration or evaluation of new analytical tools and technology.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

-Eagerness to learn new technologies and science

-Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, high-performance research team environment

-Strong communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-A Bachelor or Masters level degree in bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics or any relevant field of study. For candidate who have not achieved Master's degree may compensate for lack of a degree with at least three years of professional bioinformatics work experience.

-Demonstrated aptitude and bioinformatics expertise in the niche areas of DNA methylation or gene expression analysis.

-Proficiency in programming (Perl, Python, Java, C++, etc) and statistical analysis (R, MATLAB).

-Experience in UNIX-like operating systems and high-performance computing environments.
