Job Description:
The candidate will join a scientific project team dedicated to accelerating science at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Janelia Research Campus. We have an exciting opportunity for a temporary summer position, working in the FlyEM project team on analyzing large electron microscopy image datasets from the fly brain. This role requires full-time hours and is a temporary position for the summer 2019 (approximately May to August).

We are looking for summer help to join us on an 10-12 week assignment where they will help us analyze sub-cellular data visible in large electron microscopic images. This position will require the candidate runs and interprets results from various machine learning algorithms. In support of this, the candidate will write code in Python to enhance the machine learning algorithms and to analyze the results.

Education:
Undergraduate/graduate student pursuing a degree in neuroscience or cell biology

Experience:
Previous experience or coursework in computer science, Python programming, and statistics
Demonstrated experience writing Python
