Job Description:
The Research Fellow will be mentored by Dr. Jun Chen in the Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to develop and apply computational and statistical tools/pipelines for analyzing genomics, metagenomics and metabolomics data, and make an important contribution to the Microbiome Program in the Center for Individualized Medicine. The fellow will have opportunities to interact with principal investigators from diverse medical fields and is expected to lead both methodological and collaborative projects, develop bioinformatics/biostatistics pipelines, and contribute to manuscripts.

Ph.D. graduates in a quantitative field (e.g. bioinformatics, biostatistics, statistics, genomics, computer science) with strong computational and programming skills are encouraged to apply. Specific qualifications we are looking for include:
Experience in developing computational/statistical tools for genetics/genomics/metagenomics data analysis
Proficiency in some programming language(s) such as R, Python and C/C++; Familiar with Unix environment
Ability to conduct independent research and draft manuscripts
A good team member and has strong presentation and communication skills
