Job Description:
Analyze high throughput genomic data in collaboration with the group in Physiological Chemistry. Work with large and diverse genomic datasets with a range of NGS technologies including: RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq. RESPONSIBILITIES: -Writing R scripts for analysis and integration of NGS datasets. -Analysis of RNA-seq datasets. -Analysis of ChIP-seq datasets. -Literature searches to identify published datasets, download, QC and analyze in the context of in-house data. -Download, install and run external software for ATAC-seq/iCLIP analysis. QUALIFICATIONS: -PhD in bioinformatics, biostatistics, statistics; or master's degree with at least three years of experience working in a computational biology position. -Familiarity working in a Linux. -High level of proficiency with R programming language and or other scripting languages (Python, perl, etc.) -Strong communication skills, ability to discuss results with both biologists and computational scientists. -Experience working with genomic data (e.g. Microarrays, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq). -Good data science practice, and understanding of data complexity. Desired: -Experience with Bioconductor packages for genomic bioinformatics. -Experience in ChIP-seq data processing/analysis is a plus.
