Job Description:
The Landau Lab at the New York Genome Center is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our efforts to study the basic principles of cancer evolution. As a Bioinformatics Associate, you will be trained in the analysis and interpretation of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, originating from patient samples, as well as experimental modeling of cancer evolution, under the guidance of advanced bioinformaticians. The Landau Lab at the New York Genome Center is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our efforts to study the basic principles of cancer evolution. As a Bioinformatics Associate, you will be trained in the analysis and interpretation of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, originating from patient samples, as well as experimental modeling of cancer evolution, under the guidance of advanced bioinformaticians. Job Duties:
- Learn and assist in analyzing sequencing data using established pipelines;
- Learn and perform appropriate QC measures;
- Learn and develop/benchmark new tools for sequencing data analysis (single cell and liquid biopsy technology);
- Assist and collaborate with internal and external researchers in interpretation of sequencing data.
- BS or MS degree, or equivalent experience;
- Team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaboration skills and an eagerness to learn;
- Exposure to NGS data analysis preferred;
- A working understanding of code and script;
- Training in statistics, advanced maths, computer science or machine learning.
