Job Description:
Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Provide key interface between Product Engineering and Bioinformatics functions to ensure appropriate domain expertise is provided for all AgileSDE product development initiatives.

-Manipulate publicly accessible, commercial, or proprietary genomic, proteomic, or post-genomic databases.

-Assist in developing new software applications or customize existing applications to meet specific scientific project needs.

-Direct the work of technicians and information technology staff applying bioinformatics tools or applications in areas such as proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and clinical bioinformatics.

-Design and apply bioinformatics algorithms including unsupervised and supervised machine learning, dynamic programming, or graphic algorithms.

-Provide statistical and computational tools for biologically based activities such as genetic analysis, measurement of gene expression, and gene function determination.

-Analyze large molecular datasets such as raw microarray data, genomic sequence data, and proteomics data for clinical or basic research purposes.

· Developing, testing, and implementing clinical informatics software and application solutions under direct supervision.

· Continuously learning about a wide variety of Clinical domains to translate domain requirements into high-impact technical solutions.

· Adopting best practices in scripting, pipeline workflow development, change controls, quality, sustainability, and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications (Must have):

· PhD or Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a relevant scientific discipline, combined with at least 3-5 years in a commercial environment developing and engineering for biological sequence data analysis, or related genetics annotation and analysis.

· Experience with Python, Perl, or other high-level languages preferred.

· Hands-on experience curating and extracting data from databases, analyzing clinical data, and/or integrating clinical terminologies in a healthcare IT environment.

· Knowledge of standard classifications used in medical coding and billing schemes, such as ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD-O-3, CPT, and HCPCS.

· Willing to be very hands-on with data while learning new software technologies and tools that help us better analyze, manage, and organize standardized content.
