Our client is seeking a talented developer with bioinformatics and database experience to be part of the Biologics IT team. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage Bioinformatics and database technologies to create useful tools and interfaces for scientists in BioTech research. The candidate will work with Biologics IT team members and scientists and will have good communication skills. The candidate needs to be able to translate scientific requirements into viable IT solutions. This role is within the Bioinformatics group, responsible for large molecule development primarily around antibody discovery, and in support of Oncology and Diabetes research groups. Qualifications:

Our client is seeking a talented developer with bioinformatics and database experience to be part of the Biologics IT team. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage Bioinformatics and database technologies to create useful tools and interfaces for scientists in BioTech research. The candidate will work with Biologics IT team members and scientists and will have good communication skills. The candidate needs to be able to translate scientific requirements into viable IT solutions. This role is within the Bioinformatics group, responsible for large molecule development primarily around antibody discovery, and in support of Oncology and Diabetes research groups. Qualifications:
- Be able to develop, implement and support novel informatics solutions for scientists to drive the interrogation of biopharmaceuticals data for speedy decision making
- Oracle database experience, and the ability to help map custom fields as well as the continuous evolution of prototypes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and desire to learn
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Proficient in one of the programming language such as PHP, Perl, Python, R; And proficient in Unix/Linux OS and shell scripting
- Strong SQL and database skills, preferably with Oracle databases
- B.S. or higher in computer science or B.S. in biology / chemistry or a related field with appropriate job related programming experience
- Responsible for taking scientific information from Instruments, purchased DNA libraries, and analyzing using Spotfire (Spotfire experience not required)
- Experienced in bioinformatics technologies such as sequence alignment, clustering and blasting, Splicing, Next Generation Sequencing is desired
- Lab automation experience a plus
- LIMS experience
- Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle triggers
- Creative, detail-oriented and organized
- Exposure to Python or R programming, desired
- Background in informatics is ideal
