Job Description:
We are looking for a highly-skilled, driven Bioinformatics Manager to join our growing team in Lexington, Massachusetts. This individual will be responsible for managing data engineering and mapping efforts as a member of the technology development team. This is a challenging, yet very rewarding, role and a fantastic opportunity to be part of rapidly growing team that is passionate about using cutting-edge information technology and data science to advance research and healthcare. This individual will work very closely with the company’s CTO, CSO/CMO, software architects, and product development teams, as well as the company’s healthcare and life science clients, to help design and develop innovative software and extend the capabilities of the existing platform. The ideal candidate will be one who has experience working with complex and disparate datasets, healthcare and life science vocabulary/code/terminology sets, and other bioinformatic resources. The bioinformatician will take a lead role in healthcare data mining and modeling to allow for the incorporation of these datasets into our systems. Responsibilities: -Manage data engineering efforts as a member of the technology development team. -Evaluate new and existing healthcare data sources and manage data integration efforts. -Lead efforts to coordinate, map, and incorporate numerous streams of healthcare data. -Execute/manage data scrubbing, modeling, and analysis. -Collaborate with QA, Product Management, and Design to deliver complete solutions. -Mentor other team members to foster more web engineering expertise across the team. Desired Qualifications: -5+ years of healthcare informatics experience, preferably with healthcare or life science research experience. -BS/MS in Computer Science, Informatics, or equivalent degree. -Expertise with multiple relational and nonrelational databases. -Expertise developing new APIs and integrating with data sources. -Experience at a growing start up and the ability to provide technical leadership. -The ability to handle a fast-paced environment with confidence and a clear vision. -Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time with superior quality. -Easily approachable, tech savvy, professional, and a strong sense of business ethics. -Strong foundation of engineering competency, with a passion for execution and delivery. -A versatile personality with proven interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
