We are looking for a bioinformatics programmer to join the Advanced A.I. Research Laboratory at WuXi NextCODE. The NextCODE A.I. Platform interface is based in Python, R, and GIT for version control. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in software engineering, user interface design, and data visualization. Specific responsibilities include:
- Participating in the design and planning of software architecture
- Integrating statistical-machine learning tools into a software platform
- Developing automated pipelines based on customer based requirements
- Coordinating with team members on specifics related to algorithm design and methodology
- Writing custom scripts as needed
- Maintaining program documentation and coding instructions
- Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science, engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years of related experience; Ph.D. and post-doctoral training preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Next Generation Sequencing data analysis, Unix/Linux and shell scripting, database management, and AWS and other cloud computing services
- Strong background in programming (Python, R, Java, Scala), using open-source libraries, and data mining
- Professional working experience with scalable statistical-learning tools, software development, unit testing, version control, and release engineering
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team environment
