Job Description:
We are looking for a highly creative and innovation-driven Bioinformatics Scientist to lead software R&D at Envisagenics. Envisagenics is a highly multidisciplinary group combining software engineers, UX designers,computational biologists and pharma partners. We look for team players eager to integrate a founding team whose vision is finding better drug targets to cure yet incurable diseases using biological Big Data. We are looking for experts in machine learning, Genomics, RNA-seq and/or biological data interpretation.Candidates will be responsible for developing analytical approaches, hypothesis-driven data interrogation and application of predictive models for the identification of therapeutic targets to make fundamental contributions to understanding disease biology and therapy. Responsibilities
- Development of algorithms and machine learning applications for RNA-seq analysis, biological interpretation and disease gene prioritization.
- Conduct objective evaluation and comparison of bioinformatics tools.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to implement QC assessment and standardized analysis protocols for each of the projects as appropriate.
- Apply statistical data analysis to support assay development experiments and guide experimentalapproaches.
- Implement new analysis methods in the pipelines based on R&D prototypes.
- Automate reporting of pipeline results for R&D experiments.
- Writing of scientific manuscripts and patent applications.
- PhD in Computational Biology
- Strong programming with R/Bioconductor and python
- Experience with C++, perl, or other scripting languages
- Experience with building / supporting / using bioinformatics pipelines
- Experience with statistical and mathematical modeling with genomic data
- Experience with machine learning, Bayesian statistics, clustering/classification, multivariateanalysis
- Experience with genomic analysis of sequencing data – CLIP-Seq, RNA-Seq.
- Experience with network analysis and visualization
- Ability to work in an Agile environment
- Must be independent and strategically minded, team-oriented
- Must have proficient written, communication and presentation skills
- Experience with cloud services such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS
- Experience with SQL and MySQL
