Job Description:
Dr. Alison Goate is seeking a full time Statistical Geneticist to lead cutting edge research in genetics of complex diseases (Alzheimer's Disease, Addiction). The successful candidate will participate in the statistical design and analysis of human genetic studies with an emphasis on next generation sequencing and genome-wide association studies. Duties and Responsibilities: · Lead analysis of genetic data, interact with other investigators with diverse backgrounds regarding design of studies and analysis of data · Supervise other junior data analysts within the team · Provide data management, computational and statistical support to principal investigators, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students ·Experience with analysis of genetic data (linkage, association, gene expression, Next-Generation Sequencing, CNV, etc.) and/or biomedical studies is highly desirable. Experience with genetics and genomics is highly preferable · Data management skills for the implementation and maintenance of large genetics datasets collected for research purposes · Perform other related duties as assigned

What You'll Bring:
Education and Experience: · Master's degree required in Bioinformatics/Genetic Epidemiology/ Math/Computer Science or related field, plus three years of relevant experience · Doctoral degree is preferred in Bioinformatics/Genetic Epidemiology/ Math/Computer Science or related field, plus three years of relevant experience · Programming experience in a Unix/Linux environment (Shell, R, Perl and/or Python, etc.) and computing experience in a cluster computing environment · Familiarity with software related to genetic data analyses (e.g., PLINK, R, SAS, IMPUTE2, BWA, GATK, PICARD, VCF/BCF-tools, SKAT, etc.) with the ability to perform analyses, interpret, and effectively communicate results Do you share our dedication to extraordinary service and have what it takes to wear the badge?
