Job Description:
We have an opening on our assay development team for a skilled and experienced bioinformatician who has experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). The assay development team designs and develops fully-automated, high-throughput next generation sequencing-based genetic tests from concept through commercial launch. Our team strives to create a highly collaborative environment, with an emphasis on cross-functional projects and teams. We are constantly assessing and integrating cutting-edge technology into our laboratory and development process. You will play a key role in early development work on new assays and features to move toward our goal to make affordable and comprehensive genetic testing a reality.

What you will bring:

  • The candidate will require minimal scientific guidance beyond project goals and can design/execute analyses independently
  • Ability to communicate and present analyses in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience working side by side with molecular biologists
  • Ability to multitask and operate in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
  • Understanding of human genetics, particularly classes of genetic variation and their intersections with cutting edge molecular technologies
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: java, c, c++ or python
  • Familiarity with current NGS platforms (e.g. Illumina, PacBio) and analysis pipelines and tools (e.g. BWA, GATK, Picard).
  • Bachelors/Masters degree, PhD, or industry experience in a related field
  • Exquisite attention to detail and organization
  • Preferred: A desire to participate in experimental design
  • Preferred: Experience in the design and/or analysis of NGS-based assays, amplicon panels or microarrays
  • Preferred: Assay or technology development experience
