Job Description:
We’re looking for a talented bioinformatics software engineer to join our team of engineering, scientific, clinical, and business minds tackling tough problems at the intersection of scientific data and analysis.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Engineers on the data engineering team focus on the capabilities of our data platform which extract knowledge and insights from data of particular modalities. This particular role will focus on expanding support for genomics and transcriptomics data, which includes data exploration applying modern techniques and data science against datasets on the platform while working with the engineering team to help guide the development of our data pipeline to drive your work.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • You have experience working with software and pipelines that process -omics data.
  • You are familiar with genomic analysis platforms such as ADAM and Hail.
  • You understand the challenges of storing and navigating large-scale genomics datasets.
  • You have experience working with public genomics and transcriptomics datasets.
  • You have worked with sequence (BAM, etc.) and variant (VCF, etc.) data.
  • You have experience with data visualizations.
  • You understand APIs, both as a consumer and producer.
  • You have an MS/PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, data science, or a related discipline.
