Job Description:
Due to the continued rise of the industry and increasing demand for our services, we are looking to hire a talented Bioinformatics Scientist with a desire to focus on scientific collaborations.

Our teams employ NGS (next generation sequencing) techniques in CLIA/CAP lab environments with cutting edge instrumentation. We further analyze results utilizing proprietary data sets, human reference sequences and algorithms. This is an opportunity to work with an industry leading team of bioinformatics scientists, lab scientists, software engineer and assay developers on full life cycle R&D projects. This team will be taking on industry leading methodologies for compiling/analyzing genomic data, create pipelines/algorithms and validation as we push for more breakthroughs in our field.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Create and advance components of new cancer and immuno-oncology products with a focus on novel approaches to neoantigen detection
  • Lead planning, development and management of our lab’s scientific collaborations.
  • Apply internally developed cancer and immuno-oncology products to detect somatic variants, neoantigens, and tumor escape mechanisms within mission critical partnerships
  • Cultivate methods for dna based characterization of immuno-modulators and biomarkers
  • Work with teams to translate collaborative findings into actively developed cutting-edge products
  • Design/implement validation strategies for analysis tools and data
  • Publish and present findings at events and conferences
  • Deduce collaborative findings to identify; new product applications, new product opportunities and biomarkers that will inform future product development
Skills & Qualifications:
  • PhD in bioinformatics, genomics, or a related discipline
  • Broad comprehension of neoantigens, tumor microenvironment, tumor escape mechanisms and immune checkpoints.
  • Ability to manage, analyze, and interpret scientific collaboration projects
  • Extensive experience in cancer genomics (immuno-oncology preferred)
  • Development knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) bioinformatics pipelines/tools
  • Biostatistics and study design
  • Genomics software: Mutect, Varscan2, or similar
  • Cancer variant detection experience (Small variants, fusions, CAN or similar)
  • Standard genomics software (BWA, GATK, SAMTools or similar)
  • Databases (Cosmic, TCGA, etc)
  • Familiarity with various assays, sequencing modes and analysis approaches (WGS vs. Exome, RNA-seq)
  • Experience with one common programming language (e.g., Python, R)
  • BASH scripting and Unix/Linux command line tools
Pluses:
  • Version control systems (Git preferred)
  • Grid computing systems (SGE preferred)
