Job Description:
Position Summary We are seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist who will be responsible for development, validation and implementation of advanced computational methods and tools to enable vaccine discovery for oncology, infectious disease and autoimmune indications. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, solid programming experience, a high level of professional maturity and the ability to consistently meet deadlines. Responsibilities Develop and implement automated methods, analytical tools and software to support large-scale bioinformatics analysis Process, analyze and interpret NGS and other cellular profiling data as part of internal and external scientific studies Integrate analysis and visualization tools for NGS and multi-omics data sets, in the context of studies of cancer-patient samples Provide expert data-mining support to multiple research teams Work in a multi-disciplinary team including lab scientists, computational biologists and software engineers Collaborate with other technical teams in specifying requirements for tools to enhance workflow efficiency and robustness Work independently and prepare timetables, deliverables, and project schedules Experience/Professional Requirements Sc. or M.Sc. in bioinformatics, computational biology, mathematics, computer science or other related fields with 3+ years of relevant post-graduate research experience Strong scientific understanding of molecular biology and genomics is desirable, including experience in next-gen-sequencing, transcriptomics, proteomics or cellular profiling data Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (NCBI, UCSC Genome Browser, IGV) Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as C++, Java, Perl and Python Experience with statistical software such as R or Matlab Familiarity with UNIX environment and use of clusters to parallelize the execution of computational methods Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, dynamic and results-oriented environment Excellent teamwork, time management and organizational skills
