Job Description:
The primary focus of the position will be to analyze RNA sequencing data to further classify and characterize human tumors. This will include unsupervised approaches for subtyping tumors, characterization of mutations and structural alterations and development of gene signatures associated with clinical and molecular features. Additional experience with other high-dimensional data types will be valuable for integration of RNA data with DNA sequencing, DNA methylation, and protein. Projects will cover a range of tumor types and while expertise in a particularly tumor type is not required; a general understanding of cancer is expected. The position will involve working in a collaborative environment and requires strong scientific communication skills. The candidate will also assist with project management and quality control of data. Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have hands on experience with analysis of RNA sequencing data including experience with developing robust gene expression signatures and working with large data sets such as TCGA. Use of R or other programming languages is also required.PhD in genomics, genetics, bioinformatics, statistics or related field.
