Job Description:
Does working with NGS catch your attention? I am working with several bay area (major Pharmaceutical clients) that have opporutnities to analyze data from Next Generation Sequencing experiments. Use your quantitative expertise to analyze DNA data from sequencers to design experiments and develop algorithms and quantitative methods for various projects. Our client(s) are working on revolutionary, low cost single-molecule DNA sequencer and need that Data Scientist to provide analysis of the data. The responsibilities Include: - Design experiments to collect data from our sequencers for characterization of various pore properties. - Develop Computational tools for sequencing analysis by analyzing huge amounts of data and summarize results using existing/new analysis pipelines. - Knowledge of antibodies in drug discovery process helpful Skills: -Expertise in Python scientific stack (Numpy, Scipy) -Extensive experience in scripting languages like PERL, Python etc., and analyses tools like R, SAS JMP, Matlab, etc. -Scientific programming and algorithm development process and good understanding of statistical methods -Web interface development, signal processing and machine learning Highly Desired -Ability to summarize and present complex data -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Ability to work in Linux/Cloud environment. Education and Experience: -MS/Ph.D. in computer science, physics, or equivalent (Biostatistics or Bioinformatics) -At least 3 years of industry experience in related industry
