Bioinformatics Scientist

Job Description:

• Seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to work on a mental health project. You will be an independent contractor for a period of 1 year with possible 2 years' extension. Your office is in Bethesda, MD and you will have some travel in the metro area to collect/collaborate info and such on the project.
• You have a M.S. or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology or related field.
• 5 years experience in genetics and genomics.
• Strong background in both computational and life sciences;biological laboratory experience.
• Experience using Perl or Python.
• Experience with UNIX/LINUX.
• Experience using data repositories such as GenBank, Ensembl and PubMed.
• NGS including RNA analysis tools such as TopHat, BowTie, DESeq and WGCNA.

You can start the project around the last week of June or beginning of July 2017.
