Job Description:
This position is responsible for assisting the Bioinformatics Research Team. The intern participates in developing systems for the validation, storage and analysis of genetic information, incorporating scientific methods in system development projects, conducting scientific research in the areas of immunogenetics, bioinformatics and population genetics.

This position is responsible for assisting the Bioinformatics Research Team. The intern participates in developing systems for the validation, storage and analysis of genetic information, incorporating scientific methods in system development projects, conducting scientific research in the areas of immunogenetics, bioinformatics and population genetics.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Presently pursuing a Masters of Science degree or higher in Genetics, Immunology, Population Genetics, Bioinformatics or a technical field that requires extensive statistical or scientific analysis as part of the degree program. Minimum Experience: Understanding of genetic variation and genomics. Experience or knowledge of genome wide association studies, data curation and genetic analysis software tools would be advantageous. Other Requirements: Programming skills in Perl or Java, fluency in statistical / mathematical software package (R or SAS or MATLAB), and Microsoft Excel. Nice to have: Background in GWAS pipeline analysis is highly desired. Knowledge of genetic analysis and imputation software tools: e.g. PLINK, IMPUTE2, BEAGLE, but similar tools would also be consideredSkills :
