  • Development and maintenance of software with minimal supervision based on the requirements specified by managers, lead engineers, senior engineers and scientists.
  • Maintain and enhance analytical tools and pipelines developed at the Institute for Genome Sciences (IGS). This would include installation and assessment of newer versions of tools utilized with different analytical processes. This would also involve development of wrapper scripts to invoke open-source software and integrate multiple software into an easy-to-use pipeline.
  • Determine methods of statistical analysis to perform simple and sophisticated analyses, develop conclusions, and generate standard and customized reports and illustrations using statistical applications.
  • Participation in multiple projects simultaneously involving different scientists and datasets of variable complexity. This would involve working as a member of the a large-scale, multi-member team.
  • Ensures quality assurance of analytical data generated by IGS while meeting temporal deadlines imposed by the scientists.
