Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking Bioinformatics Software Engineer Intern. Responsibilities: -Develop software tools to automate the migration, transformation and validation of HLA sequence libraries into NAS software system to: Improve the quality of sequence data used by all HLA Typing production systems. -Comparison of sequence alignment algorithms as possible baseline for projects. -Design a sequence alignment algorithm that will align related sets of more than 10,000 genomic sequences based on configurable parameters. -Develop an HLA sequence importer tool that will acquire, align and notate more than 10,000 publicly available sequences and import the information into a well-defined SQL database. -Develop a sequence validation tool that will confirm the consistency and quality of HLA sequences
