Job Description:
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) - School of Biomedical Informatics (SBMI) has a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor position in its Center for Systems Medicine (CSM).

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to develop informatics systems for craniosynostosis (CSO) surgery to automatically classify CSO using computed tomography data and to accurately estimate patient-specific spring force for spring-assisted surgery. The candidate will also develop a novel informatics system for comprehensive glioblastoma (GBM) diagnosis. The research will aim at stratifying imaging changes in patients with GBM treated with current standard therapies into pseudoprogression (PsP) and true tumor progression (TTP), and at discovering the potential biomarkers and biological mechanisms underlying PsP and TTP.

QUALIFICATIONS: The individual should possess a doctoral degree in one of the following areas: bioinformatics, genomics, genetics, computational biology, biomedical informatics, computer science, engineering, medicine, biostatistics, or related disciplines. A record of verifiable and published research in bioinformatics and genomics and potential for obtaining extramural funding are preferred. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required. SALARY: Competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.

APPOINTMENTS/BENEFITS: This position is a full time, 12-month appointment on the non-tenure track, renewable on a yearly basis.
