Job Description:
MSK is seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to join our Solid Tumor Lab. Under supervision of the group leader, will provide support to research projects at the Center by designing, developing, and implementing software tools for processing and analyzing high-throughput next-generation sequencing data. In addition, will provide one-on-one consultation and training to research scientists and bioinformatics and software engineers at the Center in the use of bioinformatics software tools and databases.

You Will:

  • Process and analyze data from high-throughput next-generation sequencing
  • Design, develop, and operate software and databases as part of bioinformatics data processing and analysis system
  • Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation
  • Provide consultation and guidance to research scientists, as well as other bioinformatics and software engineers, at the Center
  • Train researchers in the use of computational and bioinformatics tools and develop training modules
You Need
  • Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Mathematics
  • Bachelor’s degree and related or equivalent experience
  • Cross-disciplinary and strong analytic skills, as well as broad experience with bioinformatics methods, software and computer programming languages are essential
