Job Description:
Center for Personalized Diagnostics

  • Creates, maintains, and executes data analysis pipelines for next-generation sequencing datasets.
  • Maintains the data storage on the servers.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of health information on all patients.
Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in Bioinformatics with 1 year of experience in a clinical next-generation-sequencing laboratory. Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines and tools for clinical assays.

Additional Information:

Work experience with Linux, Perl, Python, SQL, PHP, Unix shell scripting, and Excel VBA. Familiarity with bioinformatics tools such as genome browser, mutation databases and primer design programs. Familiar with the concepts in molecular biology and genomics. Ability to work both independently and a team environment of a rapidly evolving genomic diagnostic center. Ability to set priorities, make decisions, implement changes and meet deadlines while working effectively with diverse groups of people in a frequently changing environment. Broad knowledge of various laboratory methods and techniques, quality assurance, in addition to PC and LIS knowledge. Strong, quantitative, analytic and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills and creative abilities. Good oral and written communication skills. Good organizational skills.
