Job Description:
We are looking for a Solutions Architect with a unique combination of skills, both technical and consultative, to develop and grow our client relationships. As a Solutions Architect you bring a sixth sense to anticipate and deeply understand the needs of our clients to design highly sophisticated, innovative, and feasible solutions.

Solutions Architects at Seven Bridges are Bioinformatics Scientists who possess a unique balance of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. We are looking for individuals that demonstrate the ability to think strategically about business, understand what the problems that clients need to solve, develop strategies for implementing solutions and realise these technical solutions in line with customer objectives.

As a Solutions Architect you will interact with clients, business development, engineering, and product teams to architect scalable, flexible, and creative solutions for some of the largest institutions in healthcare and life sciences. You will drive revenue growth in collaboration with Business Development Managers, across a wide range of industrial and national projects by showcasing specific value propositions for each engagement. and using custom scientific materials/use cases.

Solutions Architects also lead the proposal writing process, motivate and mobilize resources, as well as deliver results in a timely manner. You will lead cross-functional teams worldwide to perform the appropriate investigation, research, and production necessary to write proposal responses to large, complex RFPs, written requests for information (RFIs), and academic grants. You will have responsibility for the completion of the proposals, including initial review, response coordination, production, final assembly, and delivery.

As a Solutions Architect you will:

  • Work closely with the Business Development Managers and lead the technical side of commercial engagements. Perform customer needs assessment and requirements gathering.
  • Design solutions, including company products and customizations, and present technical solutions to clients and management.
  • Serve as primary point of contact during solution development.
  • Read and understand government and commercial requests for proposal (RFP), invitations to bid, or requests for information (RFI).
  • Execute high-quality written RFP and RFI responses, including writing executive
  • Analyze solicitation evaluation criteria, identify questions, and collaborate with cross-functional team to understand the key problem that the proposal is trying to solve, as well as the size, scope, and complexity of the opportunity.
  • Execute high-quality written RFP and RFI responses, including writing executive summaries and researching, writing, and editing technical components.
  • Direct cross-functional proposal teams that may include teaming partners.
  • Lead scientific research collaborations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with account executives and program managers.
  • Present company product and customer success stories at conferences and industry events.

An ideal candidate has:

Required:

  • PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related discipline (or foreign equivalent degree) required
  • Relevant research experience or skills in computational biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, or statistics
  • Direct proposal writing experience, preferably in the genomics space
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C/C++, R, Python, Perl is desirable
  • Experience with large-scale genomic data (e.g. RNA-seq, Exome-seq, ChIP-seq, etc.)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Enthusiastic team player
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and multi-task across various groups and functional teams inside and outside of the organization
  • Availability to travel up to 15% of the time
Desired:
  • 3-5 years experience as a Management Consultant, Bioinformatician, or Solutions Architect in a life sciences or healthcare related information technology provider
  • Strong publication record in scientific journals, including first author publications is also a big plus.
  • Wo rking experience in the systems integration sector is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in project management experience is a big plus.
