Job Description:
The Broad Institute seeks a Computational Associate I, under the Epigenomics Program, to assist in the analysis of data from large scale genome-wide sequencing assays, including single cell work. This is a great opportunity to engage in cutting edge science and make a central contribution to biomedical research.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Epigenomics group at the Broad is responsible for the collection of multiple epigenomics maps from many samples. In addition, the group is engaged in collaborative projects with other research groups that seek to utilize epigenomic data to better understand biology of health and disease. The person hired for this position will work closely with the computational and leadership of the Epigenomics Program to implement computational methods for the analysis of the data produced by the group and our collaborators.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, biology or a related field. Good analytic skills combined with proficiency with computers are necessary.
  • A solid background in statistics, familiarity with R or Matlab, and experience with Python are all significant pluses.
  • Experience processing large genome-wide data sets would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Must demonstrate outstanding personal initiative and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
