The Computational Biology team is seeking an intern to analyze omics data for tumor indications. This includes the opportunity to apply machine learning techniques on complex clinical and non-clinical information. The individual will work within Halozyme SOP’s, guidelines and standards to always ensure data integrity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These may include but are not limited to:
- Manage and analyze complex biological data sets
- Build gene sets focused on tumor biology
- Program in Python or R, with appropriate documentation
- Perform EDA, statistical analysis, clustering, and classification
- Visualize and communicate results
- Present data findings and analysis to internal teams
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, M.S. or PhD. preferred
- Candidate must be skilled in at least R or Python, and preferably comfortable with machine learning techniques
- Bioinformatics experience in gene expression/RNAseq analysis is highly desired
- Experience with clustering is also highly encouraged
- Experience with image analysis is a plus
