Job Description:
Inivata: non-invasive tumour analysis from circulating DNA Career Opportunities at Inivata Ltd, Cambridge, UK Inivata is a dynamic new clinical cancer genomics company, based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, which is harnessing the emerging potential of circulating DNA analysis to improve testing and treatment for oncologists and their patients. Unlike conventional invasive biopsies, Inivata detects and analyses genomic material from a cancer patient’s cell-free, circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) which can be collected through a simple blood sample. This non-invasive approach – a ‘liquid biopsy’ – offers a revolution in how cancer is detected, monitored and treated. Computational Scientist position For the analysis of sequence data, the optimisation of the technology, as well as for the high level interpretation of the results for the development of ctDNA driven therapeutical decisions in collaboration with Inivata's clinical partners, we are looking for a computational researcher with skills centered around database management and statistical analysis. We expect that most applicants will have a prior experience in the fields of bioinformatics and/or cancer genomics, but we also welcome candidates from different fields. Another relevant (but not essential) qualification is the development of customer facing web-based interfaces. While we are primarily interested in these specific areas, there is flexibility for the exact profile and experience of the applicant, provided that he/she can demonstrate his/her qualities in the general area of computational biology and motivation to join a new company in the field of cancer genomics. Successful candidates will have:
