Data Analyst

Job Description:
Duties: The computational proteomics team, which supports the Microchemistry Proteomics and Lipidomics (MPL) department in Genentech Inc., is looking for a programmer/data analyst to assist with:

• Further development and implementation of novel software tools to support manipulation, annotation, statistical analysis and representation of experimental data collected in the MPL department including proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics and plate-based screens
• Further development of existing frameworks to run the aforementioned tools in configurable computational workflows and share the results to various production environments
• Assist users in running routine analysis through these computational pipelines and communicating the outcomes to collaborators

• Programming and debugging applications in R and/or Python.
• Modeling experimental data and meta-data in relational databases such as MySQL
• Experience with workflow engines, web-based user-interfaces and data visualization tools would be considered a plus
• Thorough code documentation and effective code sharing within a small team of developers using version controlled code repositories i.e git/bitbucket

• Ms or PhD in bioinformatics or related disciplines is required.
• A background in computational analysis of proteomics, lipdomics or protein arrays is not strictly required but would be considered a tremendous plus.

Requeriments :
