Job Description:
Li-San Wang’s Lab is hiring a Data Analyst to support ongoing genome-wide association studies and high-throughput DNA-Seq and RNA-Seq projects. The duties of the staff member include (1) receive, review, process, and harmonize phenotype, GWAS and sequencing primary and secondary data from collaborators and genotyping facilities; (2) contribute to the development and maintenance of software for genetics/genomics data analysis and management; (3) maintain data records, documentation, and access; (4) distribute genetic and genomic data to collaborators and approved investigators through NIAGADS or other data repositories managed by Wang lab, as instructed by the individual project administration teams. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or other related fields, and a minimum of 2 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Experience in other programming languages such as C/C++ and Python preferred. Bioinformatics, genomics, and handling of next-generation sequencing and/or SNP genotyping data optional but preferred.
