Job Description:
As a Data Analyst / Scientist, you will become a key member of the Advanced Analytics Lab at OPTUM. This function will work with OPTUM Payment Integrity business units to identify and deliver results on high-impact projects leveraging big data analytics and machine learning. Your objective is to apply data science skills to important business problems. In this position, you will be advocating the power of data science concepts and working with cross - functional teams to create actionable insight across core business lines. You will identify relevant skill and knowledge gaps needed to solve business problems and providing hands on machine learning experience solving major healthcare problems. We are looking for someone who is passionate about asking and answering questions through the use of large structured and unstructured data. It is critical to have exceptional communication skills and the ability to make complex concepts simple and easy to understand. - Become an integral member of our data science team to discover insights and identify opportunities through the use of statistical, data mining and visualization techniques
- Advocate the use of deep learning and other advanced machine learning algorithms to extract novel insight from healthcare data assets
- Document findings, including assumptions and validation work in a clear structured manner
- Summarize and present findings; adjust the content and level of detail to appropriate level of the audience
- Advise project teams and project sponsors
- Use strong business, problem solving skills and programming knowledge to quickly cycle hypotheses through discovery
- Work closely with clients, clinicians, data stewards, and other business and technology leaders to frame problem definition and potential solutions
- Advanced degree in quantitative field, engineering, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, bioinformatics, epidemiology or similar
- 5+ years of experience in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, and / or forecasting / predicting analytics in a corporate or Post Graduate setting
- 3+ years of experience applying machine learning preferably using distributed systems like Hadoop, Hive, Spark or similar libraries
- 3+ years of experience with R or Python, or equivalent data exploration work with other technologies such as Matlab Scilab, Julia, etc.
- 3+ years of experience developing solutions using advanced machine learning techniques, e.g. RNN, LSTM
- Demonstrated experience developing solutions in a transactional environment
- Expertise in operations research and optimization
Requeriments :
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Bioinformatics
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Computer Science
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Statistics
- Master's Degree in Engineering
