Job Description:
Data Modeler, Senior Key Role: Work both independently and in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to assist the government. Develop structural and functional genomic or molecular data annotations. Update genomic or molecular data models as data annotations change or evolve for downstream research purposes. Manage the relationships between and among concepts. Analyze and implement metadata and metathesaurus standards and searchable annotations. Basic Qualifications: -Experience with common standards and best practices for data elements, data types, and file formats -Experience with genomic and molecular databases, including GenBank, GO, KEGG, Pfam and tools -Experience with query and scripting languages, including SQL, Perl, Python, and Shell -Ability to obtain a security clearance -BA or BS degree and 10 years of experience with data modeling, implementation, transformation, and analysis of genomic or molecular data or PhD degree and 5 years of experience with data modeling, implementation, transformation, and analysis of genomic or molecular data Additional Qualifications: -Experience with medical standard vocabularies and coding principles, including ICD9/10, SNOMED, and LOINC -Experience with semantic Web technology, including RDF and OWL and graphical databases -Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word documents, and Project -Knowledge of data lifecycle and innovative concepts, including data strategy, data governance, and master data management -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including clearly and concisely communicating complex concepts to clients, researchers, and onsite staff -Secret clearance -BA or BS degree in CS, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field preferred, PhD degree in CS, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field a plus Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
