Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Data Scientist with Machine Learning for our client in the Staffing and Solutions domain. This is a Full-Time position and the client is looking for someone to start immediately. The Data Scientist with Machine Learning would need to have at least 7-9 years of experience. This Candidate must be a data scientist with expertise in machine learning and its use in deciphering novel associations in complex biological systems. The successful candidate will be a member of a close-knit team of experimental and computational biologists analyzing large, multidimensional genomic datasets from internal and external sources, and will develop novel predictive models characterizing cellular regulation. KEY Skills: - Strong background in statistics and good knowledge and experience with machine learning approaches. - Must be from a Science background – that has a genuine interest in Next generation Gene sequencing. - Prior experience with Statistical tools like “R” and Python are a strong PLUS. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implementation of advanced predictive models incorporating diverse data types. - Integration of state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms as well as the development of new methods. - Identification, assessment, and deployment of newly published techniques, staying current with the field. - Team with experimentalists to translate models into testable hypotheses. - Develop tools to support analysis and visualization of large datasets. Qualifications: - Strong background in statistics, machine learning, deep learning, graph/network analysis, or systems biology. - Experience in solving large-scale real-world biological problems, preferably in collaboration with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams. - Recognized excellence in applied machine learning through publication in top-tier peer-reviewed journals or conferences. - Knowledge of statistical programming techniques and languages (e.g., R, Python, Java, etc.). - Working knowledge of common machine learning approaches (e.g. regression, dimensionality reduction, un/supervised techniques, Bayesian reasoning, boosting, random forests, deep learning) and bioinformatics data analysis packages (e.g. scikit-learn, bioconductor, limma, pathways analysis, MLlib, ADAM). - Comfort and proficiency in UNIX/HPC systems and experience using cloud compute (e.g. AWS, Azure). - Familiarity with NoSQL databases, graphical analyses, and large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g. Apache Spark). - Familiarity with high-throughput next-generation sequencing platforms and their analysis. - Solid understanding of data structures, software design and architecture. - Ability to work independently and take initiative, but also a co-operative team player. - Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Machine learning, or related discipline.
