Sage Bionetworks is currently looking to a data visualization expert to help build web interfaces to multiple genomic datasets. Sage Bionetworks is currently recruiting for a data visualization expert/front-end engineer with experience with building data visualizations for the web. You would be joining a team of computational scientists, software engineers and data scientists to help communicate scientific results and provide intuitive interaction with the underlying data. About You: You have a background in computer science, bioinformatics, data science or related computational fields. You have experience building web tools for querying and displaying graphical representation of data from structured data stores. You have experience with visualization tools such as Shiny, Plotly, Bokeh or javascript libraries such as D3.js or charts.js. - Work with scientists and bioinformaticians generating data and analysis to design ways of displaying data interactively through the web
- Work with data curators to design backend data stores
- Build and deploy designs
- An undergraduate degree in computer science, bioinformatics or related computational field.
- Proven track record of building websites including data visualizations.
- Software development experience, including strong programming skills in a high level language (R, Python, PHP, Javascript, Java, etc.)
- Modern web development experience
- Experience with visualization tools such as Shiny, Plotly, Bokeh or javascript libraries
- Experience with Linux shell scripting and running distributed analyses
- Experience with deploying web sites to cloud service providers
