Job Description:
CSRA is seeking a qualified Database Developer to design new and create modifications to existing databases, create views and ETL's to support reporting and visualizations and to work with the developers to reduce timelines and improve quality. This person will be responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing databases to help developers and users retrieve data effectively. As part of our development team, you will work closely with developers to ensure system consistency, performance and data availability. You will also collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements. This role is working in a software development team supporting the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Office of Cyber Infrastructure and Computational Biology (OCICB) Cyber Technology Staff Augmentation Program (CTSAP). On this program, CSRA is supporting over 70 custom and COTS applications, both Web-based and client server applications. OCICB Software Engineering Branch (SEB) develops custom software applications for NIAID's user community consisting of approximately 4,500 intramural and extramural employees, contractors, and collaborators. Additionally, applications are increasingly being developed for access by the public, and so the scope and visibility of any developed application may be unlimited. Custom applications have been developed in the following functional areas: Scientific Reporting Services and System Support; Grants Management Systems; Contracts Managements Systems; Human Resources Management Systems; Administrative Management Systems; and Other Management Systems.

Position is for full time employment and will be based at our customers office in Rockville MD (metro accessible). This role will work Monday - Friday around normal business hours, with the opportunity to telework 1 day a week once established and with manager approval. Responsibilities:

-Provide data management support to developers and users

-Provide database development assistance in creating and enhancing applications including stored procedures and update scripts

-Modify databases per requests and perform tests

-Design stable, reliable and effective databases

-Solve database performance issues and diagnose malfunctions

-Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices

-Optimize and maintain legacy systems

-Ensure database programs meet reliability and performance standards

-Provide ETL support for BI/BA team and Tableau users.

-Be the go-to team member for data issues

Required:

- Bachelors and 5+ years experience (or equivalent combination)

- Proven work experience as a Database developer, including hands on experience with Microsoft SQL Server

- In-depth understanding of data management including Microsoft SQL Server permissions, recovery, security, monitoring, and data modeling

- Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications

- Familiarity working with .Net Framework, C#, JavaScript, and HTML
