Job Description:
Beaumont Research Institute (BRI), the research component of Beaumont Health (BH) in Southeast Michigan, is recruiting a Director of Informatics and Biostatistics. This is a full-time position in BRI with an adjunct faculty appointment available in the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB).

Research at BRI and OUWB is focused in part on cardiology, infectious disease, obstetrics & gynecology, oncology, orthopedics, radiation oncology and urology, with a commitment by both BH and OUWB to develop a nationally recognized program in population/community health that transcends departmental lines. Interested individuals, regardless of research focus, are encouraged to apply.

Duties:

Managing an office of five informaticists and biostatisticians at BRI, the successful candidate will:

a) work with investigators, administration and information technology to develop and sustain the infrastructure required for interdisciplinary, cutting-edge research utilizing bioinformatics, medical informatics and biostatistics.

b) develop synergistic research collaborations and educational initiatives with programs in OUWB and Oakland University, as well as other institutions.

c) provide mentorship and assistance to investigators and trainees requiring the utilization of informatics and biostatistics in their research.

In addition, the successful individual is expected to develop and maintain independent academic and scholarly activities.

Individuals with a Ph.D., M.D., and/or equivalent are welcome to apply; salary and startup will be commensurate with credentials. The adjunct appointment rank and status at OUWB will be determined based on qualifications and interests, and will reside in the appropriate department.
