Fluidigm is looking for a Director of Bioinformatics to lead and grow our vibrant team of bioinformatic scientists and software engineers to develop single-cell analysis bioinformatic platform with state-of-art analysis algorithms and modern industrial design approach that collectively signals the advent of a new era of customer experience in the life science industry.

You Will:
Provide bioinformatics and strategic leadership to the R&D organization Develop goals and prioritize bioinformatics effort to align with the needs of the R&D organization Drive team development including coaching, goal setting, hiring, technical mentorship, and development and enforcement of best practices Lead Fluidigm single-cell analysis bioinformatic platform development Lead bioinformatic computing infrastructure and pipeline development to support internal product development Enjoy a highly competitive compensation package, including better-than-average benefits and growth opportunities, as well as a dynamic and rewarding company culture Have fun, be fully engaged and promise to have a life beyond “ work ” EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
You Have:
Advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field 10+ years of working experience in data analysis for biological research 2+ years of management experience Strong knowledge of High Performance Computing and Cloud solutions Experience in machine learning algorithms and their application to biological problems Extensive programming experience pertinent to analysis of large and diverse data sets Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a successful track record of collaborating with cross-functional scientific teams
