Job Description:
The Enterprise Data Architect will be responsible for developing new and advanced approach to how business generates meaning and value from data. Ideal candidate will develop new methodologies and tools to enable advanced modeling and statistical analysis against large scale data sets. This resource is a member of Enterprise Architecture team within the Business Technology organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to business/technology strategy and influence decision making based on information gained from data analysis.
  • Establish standards for firm data storage and usage to ensure consistency in quality across projects and teams and identify relevant work processes.
  • Partner with both internal and external resources to gather and examine data from disparate sources with the goal of discovering previously hidden insights.
  • Serve as a resource for the identification of requirements and possible technical approach to the development of new analytics capabilities for the big data platform, relating to core subject-matter expertise.
  • Make business recommendations (e.g. cost-benefit, forecasting, and experiment analysis) with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Consult with key internal and external stakeholders to determine how best to leverage predictive modeling and advanced analytic methods to support business objectives.
  • Able to apply innovative approaches to understand and predict what will happen across the business.
  • Develop new practices and methodologies for working with the internal data technologies, often working closely with leading academics and industry experts.
  • Provide guidance to application development team members on various aspects of technology and development best practices
  • Query and mine large data sets to discover patterns, examine data and filter for targeted information using traditional/exploratory, as well as advanced analytic techniques.
  • Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with application development; data warehouse, database management
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience in data mining extremely large data sets.
  • Experience and hands on capabilities with Microsoft data platform technologies: Azure SQL Server, HD Insight, Data Factory, etc.
  • Experience with big data technologies and their application: Hadoop, R, NoSQL, Data lakes, Hive, Spark, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools; preferred: Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik
  • Significant experience working with application teams, vendors or service providers.
  • Ability to articulate strategic perspective, understanding the big picture and maintaining patience and persistence to achieve long term goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of statistical software (SAS, R, SPSS, SQL, or Python)
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with all personality types.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in a strategic and consultative technical role.
  • Experience with professional services firms.
  • Experience working within an IT organization supported by a managed IT services provider
