The University of Cincinnati Department of Biomedical Informatics seeks candidates for Assistant and Associate Professor positions in the tenure and research tracks, to be based at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). CCHMC is the leading pediatric research facility in the nation and ranks at the top of pediatric medical centers globally with respect to external funding and research accomplishments. The Department has strong ties with world-class data science, systems biology, developmental biology, and translational informatics groups at Cincinnati Children's and the University of Cincinnati. This environment provides rich collaborative opportunities in molecular study design, statistical genetic analysis, genetic epidemiology, genomics, personalized medicine, epigenetics, and biomedical informatics.

We are seeking candidates with expertise in areas such as computational biology, statistical bioinformatics, statistical genetics, genome-enabled medicine, and systems biomedicine. Possible methodological research projects include, but are not limited to, developing statistical/computational methods for integrated analysis of molecular and imaging data, analysis of single cell molecular profiles, pathway- and genetic network-based analysis, rare variant analysis of complex disorders, discovery of molecular interactions, and developing innovative molecular analysis methods and software. Responsibilities include establishing an independent research program in methodological and collaborative research focused on pediatric medicine, actively participating in the Department's educational mission and graduate programs, and synergizing with the Department's bioinformatics support services. Opportunities for informatics research in lifespan and adult medicine exist through CCHMC's strong collaborative relationship with the University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in data or life sciences or a related field.
