Job Description:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, technically skilled, Application Engineer to support our genetics business in the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Provides server configuration support to sales, field and professional services teams

• Handles technical queries from customers regarding use and functionality of products (first-and second-line support)

• Maintains basic proficiency in constructing and executing SQL queries as needed to support customer and internal questions

• Proactively identifies potential customer issues with Agilent products and coordinates corporate resources to find solutions

• Supports account managers in attending to customer satisfaction & product relevance

• Participates as an active member of the team to provide feedback on product direction and market/customer requirements

• Participates in bid teams to develop project proposals together with sales and technical teams

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Bioinformatics (or equivalent, relevant experience)

• Fluent in SQL

• 2+ years of industry experience, preferred in a clinical setting

• Familiarity with wide range of molecular genetics tools such as Linkage analysis, karyotyping, array-CGH, Sanger and next-generation sequencing (NGS) within various clinical domains (rare diseases, pathology, reproductive genetics, …)

• Past experience with genomic analysis, curation, and other similar software a plus.

• Project management experience a plus

• Excellent communication skills and have no objections to frequently interact with customers

• Enthusiastic can-do mentality, and you are a dedicated team-worker and a clear communicator. Entrepreneurial attitude and creativity are important.

• Willing to travel periodically (domestic and international)
