Job Description:
The Systems Biology Group at the newly formed Simons Center for Computational Biology (led by Dr. Richard Bonneau) is currently recruiting Flatiron Research Fellows. The group focuses on diverse topics, including network inference and modeling, model selection applied to biology, protein structure prediction and design, and automated protein function prediction. The group is situated in New York City, at the Simons Foundation Center for Computational Biology, and is also affiliated with the Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences and the NYU Medical School (via Dr. Bonneau’s group at NYU, http://bonneaulab.bio.nyu.edu). Candidates will be given significant freedom in defining their research direction and will be provided with a unique environment that combines computer science, applied math, biology and biomedical colleagues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

PhD in computer science, statistics, computational biology or related field

Experience:

  • 4 years of experience in mathematics or computational biology
  • Experience with optimization
  • Experience with authorizing scientific papers
