The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (MDC) in Berlin, Germany, jointly with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Freie Universität Berlin, offers fully funded PhD positions to candidates wishing to pursue research doctorate training in the fields of Cardiovascular Research, Cancer Research, Tumor Immunology, Developmental Biology, Medical Systems Biology, Mathematical Modeling, Structural Biology, Neurobiology, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Genomics and others. This is a unique opportunity to develop your research career at the cutting edge of fundamental molecular biology and translational medicine in one of our 65 basic or clinical research groups. Join our community of 400 international PhD students and enjoy living and studying in the heart of Europe, Berlin, one of the most vibrant (and affordable) European capitals! The Graduate School organizes structured PhD training in a supportive and international environment. The curriculum offers advanced research training, annual PhD retreats, travel grants for external courses, summer schools, and conferences, besides a framework program for personal and career development. Within the Graduate School, students can enroll in one of our thematically focused PhD Research Schools or Exchange Programs: -The MDC-NYU PhD Exchange Program in Medical Systems Biology; -The German-Israeli Helmholtz Research School “Frontiers in Cell Signaling and Gene Regulation” (SignGene); -The International Helmholtz Research School “Translational Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine” (TransCard).

Apply: We are looking for candidates of any nationality, who hold or expect to obtain a research Master degree or German diploma not later than March 2018. The MDC accepts applications from students with degrees in chemistry, biology, molecular medicine, and related subjects as well as students from quantitative sciences (including computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics) for biophysical or theoretical PhD projects.
