Job Description:
Start date: September 2018.

Applications are invited for funded PhD studentships in the Department of Computer Science at Royal Holloway, University of London. The research areas are based on the interests of the Department's research groups: Algorithms and Applications; Bioinformatics; Machine Learning; Distributed and Global Computing; Software Language Engineering and Type Theory.

The studentships are for three years and include a stipend of circa £16,777 per year plus a Home/EU fee waiver. The Department also funds students to present their work at international conferences. Research students are expected to undertake demonstrating and teaching tasks for a limited number of hours so as not to interfere with their studies. They will be invited to take the Certificate in Teaching Skills offered by the University, which is a recognised teaching qualification.

Applicants are expected to have obtained a good degree in Computer Science or a cognate discipline, and must obtain the support of a potential supervisor in the Department prior to submitting an application.
