Job Description:
The Pathology laboratory in Comparative Biology & Safety Sciences Department at Amgen is seeking a summer graduate intern to work on a project related to molecular pathology under a supervision of Amgen pathologists and scientists.

A successful intern will learn and apply cutting-edge molecular pathology techniques and platforms, such as high-throughput antibody screening for immunohistochemistry and digital pathology with software-assisted image analysis, to enhance our understanding of/improve our approach to address common issues and questions related to immuno-oncology research and/or immune-related toxicologic pathology.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a Master’s program for a Masters internship OR PhD program for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree concentration(s) in Veterinary Medicine, Pathology, Toxicology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or Computational Biology.
  • Previous experience and proficiency in histology, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, ELISA, digital pathology, or digital image analysis would be preferred
